The exact cause of eczema is still a matter of research. However, eczema can be caused due to a variety of reasons like genetics, environmental factors, stress, hormonal imbalance, irritability to certain soaps, and shampoos and allergies.
Though there are a lot of medications available for eczema, it is advisable to use home remedies as they don't do any harm to your skin and is more economical.

Honey: The antiinflammatory and antibacterial propertyof honey treats eczema effectively.- Honey speeds up the process of healing and minimises skin irritation and itching. Apply honey to the affected area, and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash off with cold water. Repeat this procedure thrice a day for the best results.
Aloe Vera Gel: One of the reasons for eczema is dry skin. Aloe vera is one such herb which hydrates the skin and soothes it. Regular application of aloe vera gel relieves the symptoms of eczema.

Almond Oil: Almond oil is one of the effective home remedies for treating eczema. The oleic and ursolic acid present in almond oil alleviate the symptoms of eczema. It reduces the inflammation and promotes the healing process.

Coconut Oil: We all know the benefits of coconut oil on hair. But, this oil can be used to treat several skin disorders, as well. Eczema is one among it. Coconut oil is the popular home remedy for eczema, used since ages. The lipids and healthy fats in this oil prevent the itchiness and soothe the skin.
Cucumber: The cooling and hydrating property of cucumber works miracles in treating eczema. The cooling effect of cucumber reduces the burning and itching sensation. It also reduces the inflammation and pain.
