Over the years, the colour red used to be the prominent and most important colour for Christmas. Red symbolised everything from the happy Santa Claus to the rich ornaments on the tree, and even the sweet candy canes. Red
The colour represents the apples in the land of paradise. Red is also a significant Christmas colour, since it symbolises the Holly berries, which is said to represent the blood of Jesus when he died on the cross.

Green
Apart from the everygreen Christmas tree, the colour green is related to the Evergreen plants, like Holly, Ivy and Mistletoe, which have been used for thousands of years to decorate and brighten up buildings during the long dark winter season. Till today, people decorate their homes with these trees and get themselves ready for the cold season.

Gold
Gold was also one of the presents brought to the baby Jesus by one of the wise men and, traditionally, it's the colour that was used to show the star that the wise men followed.

White
White is the purest of colours that is related to Christmas. During the winter season, it generally snows and, thus, to highlight the spirit of Christmas, a snow man is built. This white hue also resembles the bread eaten during Christian Communion or Mass, when Christians remember that Jesus was crucified for them.

Blue
Blue represents the colour of the sky and heaven. It also represents the colour of the Virgin Mother Mary. Blue is also regarded as a sacred colour and a precious one too.
