The waves of a romantic relationship may make you do strange things. Getting matching tattoos for you and your loved one is such a one. The love for your partner may make you blind and you'll feel that you are addicted to drugs. However a recent study claims that getting matching tattoos is a worst mistake for the lovelorn couples.

Dr. Jeffrey Rand of New York's Tattoo Removal Centre believes that getting matching tattoos is a terrible idea. He hints at the divorced celebrity couples Lindsay Lohan-Samantha Ronson and Rihanna-Chris Brown in this aspect. Angelina Jolie's "Billy Bob" dragon tattoo also didn't work, for the actress had to split from her ex-husband in 2003. Rand claims that most of his workday is spent lasering off names or matching tattoos from a love affair gone bust.

When you look at the divorce rate [and] beyond that, the break-up rate of relationships before marriage, you can see that the matching tattoos do not help at all. There's no guarantee that a permanent mark of your partner's tattoo will make your relationship permanent too. So…let's buy roses, buy chocolate, buy a puppy and share it. Don't get matching tattoos.
