While you travel in an aeroplane there are certain rules that you need to follow. From fastening your seat belts while traveling to not using the washroom, there are various rules which come into action and play a very important role in our safety.

Gravity does play an important role in balancing the weight of the plane. Though there is no danger if one person is inside the washroom, which will not really make a difference to the balance of the aircraft, it would be a tricky situation however to manage a lot of people visiting the lavatories every now and then during takeoff or landing.

The toilets do not have seat belts and they do have sharp and hard surfaces. This could bump against your head or it can even block the entry in case of a crash. So, ideally, it is a good idea to stay away from using the lavatories during a flight's takeoff or landing.

Toilet is also a place where water, electricity and paper all come together; and in case of any emergency, it is considered to be one of the most flammable spots in a flight. So, this is one good reason why we are not allowed to use washrooms during takeoff and landing.

Since toilets are enclosed spaces, there are chances that they can be blocked or jammed in case of an emergency, leading you to be stuck in a death trap. Okay, now this is a little too much to digest.

Would it not be awful that you are being rescued or pulled out of the cabin with your pants off when you are stuck inside in case of an emergency? Could be rather embarrassing right?

The passengers are supposed to follow the law of rule book meant for travelling. It is reportedly forbidden to use the restroom during a takeoff and landing as per the aeroplane safety rules.

During takeoff and landing there are chances of the plane getting jerked or move with a sudden force. Hence, it is very important that the passengers are seated during this process.
