Eid: The Feast After The Fasting

Delicious food is an inevitable element in every celebration and in a way is the symbol of festivities. On the day of Eid it is common for everyone to prepare dishes according to the traditions and serve it to family members and guests. It is a common practice that on Eid day inviting non-Muslims as guests.
Eid Preparations
Cleaning and decorating the house make people to feel the festivity.
While making special food for Eid priority should be given to the traditions associated with the festival.
It is most important for people to not forget that part of the pleasure is in the presentation. In other words, food served in the usual plates and dishes, on the usual bland kitchen or dinner table is simply not good enough for the Eid lunch or dinner.
Decorating the table with new table cloths and "dressing up" the food will give more of the Eid feeling to your meal.
Eid Menu
Get the whole family to decide on a menu. There needs to be, of course, a main dish, side dishes, snacks and dessert. Appetizers can be fit in as well if everyone wants them.
The Eid day celebration is not limited to a lunch or dinner. The entire day people spent in a mood of festival. Therefor when planning the menu, always start from the breakfast to dinner through a delicious lunch.
Let snacks and sweets make the day more sweeter and happier.
On Eid possibly avoid the normal everyday food and prepare a special dish which will bring the feel of celebration. There should also be a variety and dishes should be balanced between what different people like, so that there are dishes for everyone's taste.
Try to have some dishes which are not necessarily from your specific cultural background.
How to serve the menu
Before you you begin with the food it is proper to greet the guests in accordance with the spirit of the celebration. Eating outside the house may add to the joy of celebration.
Place easy, general dishes at the reach of gusts so that they can serve themselves. General dishes include steamed or roasted vegetables, rice, salad, condiments etc... The food that you keep at the middle of the table could be decorated well.
Serve the main dishes to gusts by yourself as main dishes are difficult to carry as they may be heavy possibly.
Once you have done with the main course bring deserts and sweets, but remember to remove the main course before you bring deserts in.
Once everyone is done with the dishes, now it is time for the celebration to be continued in other ways like exchanging gifts or engaging in family games. Remember it is not the food that you consume make any festival, but the joy that you share among yourself is the essence of every celebrations.
