ICW’14: Alia Bhatt Walks For Manish Malhotra

ICW 2014 is nearing its end. The show started with one ace designer; Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It is about to end with another master craftsman of clothes, Manish Malhotra. The India Couture Week 2014 will end tomorrow with a fashion show organized by FDCI and Shree Rajmahal Jewellers. However, Manish Malhotra will be the last designer to present at ICW 2014.

This time, his collection is titled ‘Portraits'. As the name suggests, this collection aims to capture a girl in her most intense and beautiful moments. When a girl becomes a bride, she is the portrait of perfection. That is why; Manish Malhotra collection focuses on making these intimate moments of happiness and pleasure special for the bride.

Manish Malhotra has used gold dust and beige hues to create these bridal designs. He uses both old and new features of bridal wear in this collection. There is an element of antique in the outfits. Tradition transcends into modernity in this bridal collection. Kashmiri zari work and embroidery has been used to adorn the bridal outfits in Manish Malhotra's ‘Portraits'.

The ramp was lit up with dim lanterns to await the maestro's designs. He has also used handpicked jewellery from Shree Rajmahal Jewellers to deck up his brides. Special naths, mang tikkas and neck pieces were used in this collection to dress up the brides for the ‘Portraits'. The men were dressed in loose pajamas and bandhgala sherwani's with Kashmiri work.

Alia Bhatt walked down the ramp in a red full-sleeved choli with a tie-up dori behind. She also wore a red lehenga that had a flare and golden embroidery. She wore no jewellery and carries a completely sheer drape. She gave a nonchalant look like a live portrait. Accompanying her was Aditya Roy Kapoor who was dressed in wide bottom pajamas and a cream coloured bandhgala.
