The honour was bestowed on the actress on the revered college's 262nd Commencement. Streep now joins the list of non-students honored by the college. The list includes actress and civil rights activist ruby dee davis and chef Alice Waters.
The 'Mama Mia' star turned 60 on Monday June 22, 2009. The actress had passed out Vassar College in 1971 and studied drama at Yale University.
