Marisa Miller Heads Maxim's Hot 100 List

American supermodel Marisa Miller 29, knocked curvy actress Scarlett Johansson, troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan and many others from the top of Maxim magazine list of the 100 hottest women in the world.

It was the first time that Miller, a Victoria's Secret model, appeared on the annual list. She had also graced the cover of the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Miller was followed by actress Scarlett Johansson. Lindsay Lohan who had grabbed the honour in the last years list of the Hot 100 "Ultimate List of the World's Most Beautiful Women," fell to a somewhat lukewarm No. 9. And guess who stands tall in the top 3 list, its Jessica Biel. Her starred role in the U.S. family-friendly television drama "7th Heaven" as a preacher's daughter, did not make her slide down from the hot celebrity list.

Also making the Top 10 are Eva Longoria Parker, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elisha Cuthbert, Eva Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale from the hit tween movie series "High School Musical". Other stars like Britney Spears just cracked the Top 20 in the ninth annual list, squeaking in at No.19 after a year that included a sad saga in rehab and a notorious head-shaving incident.

Marisa Miller made her first modeling gig in 1998 when she appeared nude in Perfect 10 magazine. After that her modeling career seemed a dazed life for three years, until a chance meeting changed the course of her life forever. While surfing in Manhattan Beach, California, famous fashion photographer Mario Testino happened to be on the beach. Mesmerized by Marisa Miller, he took some pictures of her with her singular appeal. Marisa was then offered a chance to become a model.

In 2001, Marisa Miller was offered the opportunity to appear within the pages of the 2001 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. This secured her place within the modeling industry. Her skills and beauty made Victoria's Secret hire her to model lingerie for its catalogs. Many other companies also noticed her, and soon she was appearing in publicity campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, J.Crew and Nordstrom. From then there has been no turning back.
