A New Museum On Raja Ravi Varma
Manipal: The Hasta Shilpa Trust, which had reconstructed a dozen of ruined historic buildings, will open a Raja Ravi Varma Archival Museum here on December 30.
The museum would be inaugurated by Dr Rama Varma Sripathi Prasad, grandson of the legendary artist, Trust Secretary Vijayanath Shenoy said in a release here today.
The Trust had acquired all the archival materials connected with the printing process of the works of Raja Ravi Varma from the present owner at Malavli in Mumbai.
The archival materials, included the machinery used for printing, litho stones with impressions of works of Ravi Varma, packets of special colour ink powder made in Germany for colour reproduction of the works, original colour prints of Ravi Varma paintings of varying sizes, printing accessories and work sheets.
He said the Netherlands Embassy in New Delhi had supported the Trust in setting up the museum.
