Vitamin And Mineral Supplements You Don't Need
We all know that for a healthy body, we need to consume certain vitamins and minerals. These are required by the body to carry out numerous functions, but the body can't manufacture on its own in adequate quantities. However, according to latest research, our body does not require certain vitamins and supplements.
Minerals and vitamins are often called micronutrients since your body needs only small amounts of them. A combination of calcium, vitamins D and K, magnesium and phosphorus shields your bones against breaks. Vitamin D enables the body to pick calcium out of food sources passing through your digestive tract as opposed to absorbing it from your bones.

Several B vitamins are key components of some co-enzymes that help release energy from food. Vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid metabolize amino acids and help cells multiply. According to latest research, these can cause kidney stones, hardening of arteries and heart diseases. Instead go for fish, green leafy vegetables and almonds for calcium intake.
Vitamin E , according to latest research, has been responsible for causing cancer. Earlier, vitamin E was recommended for the prevention of diseases like Alzheimer's, cataracts, heart diseases, etc.

Before taking iodine supplements, check with your doctor as very little or too much iodine in your body can cause hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. So be careful with your iodine intake.
Iron supplements can damage the liver and other organs like the pancreas and the heart. So consult a doctor and find out if at all you really need to take iron supplements.
Vitamin B6 supplements have been found to cause abnormal sensations in the nerves. Hence, before taking any of these supplements please consult your doctor.
