4 Health Effects Of Binge Drinking
Health effects of binge drinking are enormous, but binge drinkers are not quite aware of them. Males of all age groups are considered to be more into binge drinking. Binge drinking is generally associated with two types of health effects - one is the short-term effects and the other is the long-term effects.
One must have a control on alcohol consumption as harmful effects of drinking can be serious and life-threatening. Binge drinking is even more harmful than a controlled drinking every day.
In this article, we shall look at the health effects binge drinking has upon all adults and adolescents.

Hangover, Nausea and Vomiting - This is one of the most common effects of binge drinking. Excess consumption of alcohol can result into a bad hangover to start with. Heavy headache and low brain thinking is the first thing that happens after too much of alcohol intake. Nausea and vomiting are short-term effects of heavy drinking. The health effects that binge drinking causes are terrible as headache, nausea and vomiting do not let you stay sound and healthy.
Liver-related problems - Binge drinking often leads to liver-related problems caused by excess alcohol consumption. Too much of alcohol is bad for the liver as it starts getting stressed and purification of body blood is hampered. Liver cirrhosis is the worst health effect binge drinking causes. The liver starts swelling up and accumulates water in it. Liver cirrhosis, if not detected earlier, can cause fatal conditions too. Approximately, 10 to 20 percent of drinkers die because of liver-related disorders caused by excess consumption of alcohol.
Tend to follow alcoholism - A large part of binge drinkers slowly and steadily get attracted to alcohol. The need and cravings for alcohol consumption does not stay over the weekend alone. This in turn causes a drinker to become an alcohol addict. This is the worst psychological effects of binge drinking. About a quarter of binge drinkers tend to get into regular drinking of alcohol. This affects their daily life, females especially have a lot of ill-effects as it can hamper their reproduction cycle because of both binge drinking and alcoholism. The other related diseases are low fertility rates for both men and women due to alcohol toxins.
Mental effects of binge drinking – Mentally, alcohol plays a bad role as health effects of binge drinking causes the improper functioning of the brain. Drinking can cause depression which leads to more alcohol consumption. Too much of drinking may also cause loss of senses, increase in anger leading to frustration, violence and change in behavioural pattern. Health effects of binge drinking also causes unpredictable change in moods.
