Aishwarya's Festival de Cannes Journey, From Neeta Lulla to Rami Kadi
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Cannes journey, from Neeta Lulla to Rami Kadi. Take a look.

When you talk about angels on this mortal land, it is just Aishwarya Rai Bachchan you think of. With her consecutive appearances at Festival de Cannes, we have seen an evolution of beauty and fashion since 2002.

Aishwarya debuted in Cannes in the year 2002 for the premiere of her film Devdas. She was wearing a beautiful yellow saree by her friend and designer Neeta Lulla. Teaming the attire with gold jewellery, Aishwarya looked like a masterpiece carved out of gold.

Returning the following year, Ash did not play a good role in fashion. The saree was again by Neeta Lulla and undoubtedly a beautiful one. However, this time Aishwarya did a bad job of choosing Cannes as the occasion to wear this, especially with the spaghetti blouse that killed the look. There is no doubt about the criticism that followed this avatar.

Going traditional for back-to-back two years, Aishwarya became the western glam doll in the year 2004. This was the time she debuted as the official L'Oreal Paris ambassador. She played a loyal friend to Neeta Lulla as she opted for her design here too. Giving her a western avatar, Neeta did a good job. In the glittery gown, Aishwarya looked great.

Aishwarya officially opened the Festival de Cannes in 2005, which was a great honour for India as well. It was the first time an Indian was opening the grand international festival. Aishwarya wore a black Gucci gown with black pump heels, making her look the perfect lady in black.

It was in the year 2006, Aishwarya started setting the trend, especially with the awesome snake choker she wore with a violet Roberto Cavalli gown. It was back then she received numerous compliments regarding the look and even more than a decade after we find the look as admirable as it looked then.

It was in 2007 that she took her beau Abhishek Bachchan to introduce him to the grand festival of the city of France. They went for the screening of the couple-starred movie Guru.
She chose to wear a Giorgio Armani white gown and looked as ravishing as ever. She chose to continue her choker trend in Cannes as she wore a diamond choker to match the dress. She looked like a divine fairy who lost her wings.

The year 2008 was a family-studded event for Aishwarya as she was escorted by her in-laws, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and her husband Abhishek Bachchan. She attended the Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiere along with her family.

What she wore was ethereal, a fuchsia pink Cavalli gown and looked as gorgeous as words cannot demand.
The Cavalli fever was on as she wore the same brand in 2009. The white gown by Cavalli resembled a Christian bride ready at the alter with all her beauty. The tiara and the veil were missing in the bride look. She looked very pretty.

Jumping back to ethnics, she decked herself in a Sabyasachi saree in the year 2010. She flaunted a traditional look, and what is the word? "Sanskaari''. She looked like a girl full of sanskaar. Jokes apart! She looked amazing.

In the year 2011, she walked the red carpet in her dual-toned Armani Prive gown. The white and blue coloured gown amazingly fitted the former Miss World. We loved it.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was rocking her postnatal chubby looks in 2012 with an Elie Saab black gown. She did not lose her charm as she gained that post-baby weight. Looking a diva as ever, she stunned a lot at the red carpet of Cannes.

We found Aishwarya in a satin avatar where she returned to Cannes with a lot of lost weight in the year 2013. She looked too good in the Gucci Premiere gown. Her makeup by L'Oreal and the hairdo just sat in place with the outfit. A perfect lookbook, we call it.

Aishwarya was flaunting her golden coloured Roberto Cavalli gown and rocked the red carpet in 2014. Her mermaid look was the talk of the event that got illuminated with the bold red lips. She looked just Ooo La La!

Ralph and Russo is a favourite for many at the Cannes Film Festival, alike this year too. So it was for Aishwarya in the year 2015. Her gown with dramatic ruffles made her look exactly like a butterfly princess.

Last year, 2016 was again a partial blunder for Aishwarya. While she wore a very pretty floral gown by Rami Kadi, her mauve lips had entirely spoiled the beautiful lookbook. As they were criticized earlier too, we too found it to be a bad experiment.
As she is about to begin her red carpet walk at Cannes this year, there are too many expectations from her. Hope she becomes the next slayer Bollywood queen after Deepika and Shruti at Cannes film festival 2017.
