- Rice flakes (poha) - 4 cups (translucent Basmati rice-flakes is the best)
- Coconut (fresh & grated) -2 cups
- Jaggery - half cup (More or less, according to taste)
- Sugar – half cup
For Frying:
- Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Red chilly (pieces or flakes ) - 2 or 3
- Sambar powder – 1 tsp
How To Make:
- Mix the rice flakes, coconut, jaggery and sugar together and blend it well.
- Keep it for 3-4 hrs.
- Rice flakes will absorb the moisture from the grated coconut but will not become too soft.
- Heat the oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds.
- Put the red chilly flakes and fry well.
- Add the rice flakes mixture and sambar powder and mix well.
- Turn off the stove.
The delicious north- kerala Poha is ready to serve. This snack is perfect for any time of the day!
