Summer Skincare: 4 Ways To Use Cucumber For Skin In Summer
Summer season is here and if you are like, you might be looking for things that could help provide relief from the terrible heat.
In today's summer skincare article, we will look at one such versatile veggie that can not only provide your skin with some relief from the heat but also naturally boost your skin health.

Cucumber slices have been used for years for under-eye and facial treatments. Cucumbers contain antioxidants such as vitamin C and caffeic acid, which fight inflammation in the gut and at the same time can be beneficial when applied to the face to rejuvenate the skin [1].
Let us examine some of the ways in which cucumbers can benefit your skin.
Cucumber For Skin: Benefits
Here are some of the benefits of cucumbers for the skin [2][3]:
- Soothing and cooling effects
- Antioxidant activity
- Skin nourishment
- Reduce swelling
- Alleviate sunburn
Now that we are aware of the benefits of cucumbers for your skin, let us look at four ways in which cucumbers can soothe your skin.
How To Use Cucumber To Soothe Your Skin
1. Cucumber water
Combine cucumber water with other beneficial ingredients, such as aloe vera, green tea, or castile soap, for a simple morning wash. To feel refreshed and awake in the summer heat, splash your face with cucumber water.
2. Hydrating cucumber mask
Cucumber is composed of 96 per cent water, so you can combine it with other natural ingredients to create a mask that helps to exfoliate the skin as well as soak up the cucumber's soothing properties.

The combination of cucumber, honey, and yoghurt results in a mask that is hydrating and deliciously smelling. For calming and exfoliating properties, you can also add ingredients such as oats to the mix.
3. Cucumber and aloe vera mask
Take cucumber puree and mix two teaspoons of aloe vera gel into it. Massage the mixture onto your face for a few minutes. Let it stay for ten to fifteen minutes, then rinse it off. You can do this 2-3 times a week.
4. Cucumber toner
- Peel, slice, and wash a cucumber and add it to a pan with sufficient water to cover the pieces.
- After heating over a low flame for approximately 5-7 minutes, transfer the contents to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Afterwards, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or squeeze it with cheesecloth to remove any unblended ingredients.
- The remaining liquid should be transferred to a spray bottle or other sterilized container.
- You may add a teaspoon of rose water or witch hazel to the mixture to enhance its hydrating and healing properties.
- Keep the mixture no longer than three to four days as it can go bad without preservatives.

On A Final Note...
In addition to being rich in vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, cucumbers calm skin inflammation, prevent pores from getting blocked and help remove toxins from the skin.
Comprehending its nutritional value in skincare, cucumbers are one of the best, particularly during the summer months.
