Naturally Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter Recipe
Your body needs water, and we don't just mean consumption wise, but topically too. The only source of moisture it gets in a day is the body lotion you dab on hurriedly. Did you know that the five-minute ritual you perform in a day for your skin will probably determine the way your skin ages or how fast?
The lotion is the only protective barrier your skin has against outside elements. It helps the skin to retain its moisture balance, keeps it from losing elasticity overtime and reduces scarring.
Now that you know just how important a role the body lotion plays on the skin, is the lotion which contains 70% water and 30% moisturizing agents, enough? Or do you need something more intense? Yes! Body butter.

If you thought that the body lotion and the body butter are same, you cannot be more wrong. Applying lotion is like applying water, as it wears off quickly. Body butter on the other hand predominantly consists of enriching oils and butter, which go skin deep.
And instead of packing up on chemical-based body butter, it pays to try natural ingredients first. It will give far more benefits at a very little price.
Here is a naturally whipped coconut oil body butter recipe for that supple smooth skin.

Ingredients Required
- ½ Cup shea butter
- ½ Cup coco butter
- ½ Cup coconut oil
- ½ Cup almond or jojoba oil
- A few drops of lavender oil

Direction To Follow
Mix all the ingredients together in a double boiler, except the lavender oil.
Melt the ingredients on low heat. Keep stirring for the components to combine well.
Take it off the heat and let it cool at room temperature. Add in the lavender oil.
Put the mixture in the refrigerator to set for an hour. Take it out. Using a hand blender, whip it until it reaches a fluffy consistency.
Place it in the refrigerator again for 10 to 15 minutes. Store it in an air tight container and use as your regular body butter.
Even though all the ingredients in the body butter have their own enriching qualities, it is the coconut oil which makes it a hit.
Packed with antioxidants coconut oil protects the skin against free radicals, and its rich fatty acid strengthens the skin's cell structure. Coconut oil also nourishes the skin's connective tissues preventing wrinkle and its rich anti-bacterial properties soothe any inflammation. So, what are you waiting for? Apply it!
