How Early Bedtime Ruins Toddler's Sleep
Are you in the habit of putting your child to bed quite early? Well, then you must not be aware of the fact that early-bedtime ruins toddler's sleep. If you choose a bedtime which is in disagreement with your toddler’s body clock, it may ruin your as well as your child’s sleep. According to many scientists, an early bedtime can actually keep your child awake for many hours and they can even wake up a couple of times throughout the night.
It is better for the toddler to choose his own bedtime as per his body clock. Sometimes as a parent you might think that putting your child to bed early may give you a break to finish up the other important chores. However, you may not know its consequences. It may end up in a cranky child, incessantly getting up and coming to you. A lot of studies have proved that making toddler sleep early is not good for mother. Read on this article which reinforces some latest studies which confirm that how early-bedtime ruins toddler's sleep:

The Melatonin Level Of Your Child
According to a recent study, the chances of your child having a good sleep at night depend on when he feels a raised “melatonin” level in his body. Melatonin is a hormone in your toddler’s body which rises in the evening to control the inner body clock. However, the right melatonin level may vary from one toddler to another. Scientists also believe that when you choose a conflicting bedtime it leads to sleepless nights for both you and your toddler. If your child does not get sufficient sleep at night it may lead to behavioral and emotional problems afterwards.

Know The Right Biological Clock Of Your Child
In a latest study, the melatonin levels of 14 children between 30-36 months were measured for 6 successive nights. According to this study, the average melatonin levels of the toddlers rose daily in the evening at around 8 PM. Moreover, if their parents put them to bed around that time, they dozed off within thirty minutes. However, toddlers whose melatonin levels rose at later times, if put to bed at that time showed crankiness and took much longer time to fell asleep. These toddlers also woke up constantly throughout the night. Thus, it is very important to know the right biological clock of your toddler.

A wrong biological clock is directly proportional to difficulty in sleep pattern which also leads to insomnia in later life. Thus, if you are a new mother then you must accept this fact that making toddler sleep early is not good for mother. You may think of winding up your toddler’s bed time ritual as early as possible in order to take some rest or finish some other pending jobs. But, it is not at all advisable for your child to make him sleep before his biological clock.

Involve Your Toddler In Physical Activities
For all mothers it is necessary to make your toddlers tired by engaging them in some physical activities. Involve them in re-arranging blocks, chase them or make them chase you and ask them to bring specific things for you while you are busy in your kitchen. These chores will make them tired and by the end of the day they are bound to have a good night’s sleep. Making them tired will also help you to put them to bed easily and they will also go to bed more willingly rather than resentfully.
Since a plethora of studies prove that early-bedtime ruins toddler's sleep, selecting the right bedtime for your toddler will not only help him have an uninterrupted sleep but this in turn will give you a good night’s sleep as well.
