Living In India
As it happens I live in Ukraine and so really you could ask what qualifies you to talk about living in India and why do you prefer Ukraine?
In my previous article I spoke about Yoga and Marriage. We will deal will deal with family life and life at home. Children nowadays are not very important (in the good old days you wanted 10 of them now a maximum of 2 and you want them as late as possible and out of home as much as possible and as soon as possible. A marginal additional child today is too expensive and your first priority is naturally real estate). So really life at home is about being alone. In another article I may talk about the being alone option/part of life at home.
So, you step out of the door of your home (which is your heart, a life that involves your feelings and which is really worth living) and you are in India (or Ukraine), for example. Living in India is about that part of your life that does not relate to being married or being alone. It relates to your interaction with motorcycles (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a book one should read or avoid reading, see later), with nature and with people.
This is an article also for Indian nationalists and of course I can claim that living in India is far far better than living elsewhere (being alone at home, being married nowadays of course, possibly only excepting living in America, Britain, Japan and Ukraine). Hence you should minimize time at home-alone and focus on your business life, movies, restaurants, with friends.
There is an Indian/Ukrainian heritage and there is in the world today a modern American/British (i.e. foreign?) approach to life. Is this latter bad (I mean awful)? No. God made the world just the way it should be. So, what is so nice about the equally bad Indian heritage and why should you live in India? And, which life style do you have today?
The world outside of your heart and your individual soul (being alone) has a purpose. One of the (thousands) of nice things about traditional Indian heritage is that it was designed carefully by to maximize harmony in your interaction with nature and with the world outside of you. And life in America (and modern India) too has a purpose, the same one..
So, Living in India is about not rushing. Walking a little slowly. The more slowly you walk the more you can relax (try it and see). It is about doing a nice job (at work) and doing it nicely, to the best of your ability. It is about not talking too much, not too much of a social life, listening when need be, playing sports uncompetitively (Indians do not have the same abilities as Americans and should definitely not play cricket or American football in my humble opinion) and enjoying your life with your spouse and children as much as can be. Just the way it used to be all over the world, in the good old days. Own goals are a part of modern lifestyle. Living in India is also about looking around you and listening to the world about you in a quiet reflective frame of mind.
Each day one can set aside a couple of minutes to think over where one is living and where one wants to live. So really, you only need one minute each day, to think over whether you want to be where your heart is, harmoniously, always. Even when motorcycles rush, a harmonious person lives, consciously. It is also about not riding motor cycles unless otherwise you like it.
