Z is for Zardosi

By Super Admin

Zardozi embroidery is one of the most metaphorical examples of Indian weaverhip. It's arduous and painstaking. But the effort is worth every stitch, for each metre of Zardozi, alongwith the gems and stones that give it that exceptional look, is a mini treasure.

Zardozi needn't just be limited to Indian clothes! Just as the very European concept of crystal superfluities work well on Indian outfits, zardosi embroidery too looks stunning on western wear.

There is only one reason you could be hesitant to buy a Zardosi outfit - that you must learn how to maintain it! If you're not terribly worried about it getting dark and rusting a little bit, you could just wrap it and keep it in a fabric. As it grows older it looks better, because it starts to get more subtle and it ages nicely.
