The Police Comeback Is Disastrous
The Police drummer Stewart Copeland has branded the band's second comeback performance a complete "disaster".
The musician described the group's second Vancouver show as "unbelievably lame".
The concert, played in front of 20,000 fans at the GM Place Arena, got off to a rocky start when Copeland tripped as he took the stage. The drummer then claims that he, guitarist Andy Summers and bassist-and-vocalist Sting were "half a bar out of sync" during classic hit 'Message in a Bottle'.
He also said Sting's attempts to leap in the air during 'Synchronicity II' left the singer looking "like a petulant pansy instead of a god of rock".
Sting, 55, announced the band's reunion tour, their first live dates for over two decades, earlier this year. The world tour is scheduled to run until early next year, with concerts due to take place across the US, Europe, Japan, Australia, Latin America and New Zealand.
