Hridyanath Mangeshkar to get sisters Sanman
Indore, Apr 10 (UNI) Melody queen brother and musician Hridyanath Mangeshkar will be conferred with the prestigious award here on April 15.
The award, carrying a cash component of Rs one lakh and a citation, would be presented on the last day of four-day musical event Rashtriya Alankaran Samaroh.
The award is conferred to recognise contribution in the field of music and singing.
So far, 22 artists, including Lata's younger sister Asha Bhonsle, Naushad, Kishore Kumar, Anil Vishwas, Manna Dey, Talat Mehmood, Jaideo, Khayyam, R D Burman, Lakshmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Jagjit Singh and Bhupen Hazarika have been honoured with the award.
Born on October 26, 1937, Hridyanath Mangeshkar hails from a family committed to music. He is the son of famous musician and dramatist late Deenanath Mangeshkar and brother of renowned singers and Asha Bhonsle.
