Axis, previously known as Odyssey, is the national level technical festival organized by Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. Axis the largest of its kind in Central India, which aims at bringing students to a common platform and showcase their technical skills, exchange ideas in a simulated competitive atmosphere and help them attain a step higher in broadening their dimensions of excellence. It also, aims at creating student-industry interaction to help students get a taste of the corporate world. It has four successful editions which saw participation from a bunch of enthusiastic and motivated group of people from all over India, including the IITs and NITs. Axis '07 plans to take this technical extravaganza to the pinnacle of technical excellence.

Some of the tentative events for Axis 07- 08 are paper presentation, robotics, contraption, junior scientist, software contest,meet the crackers, mo-fun, Wallstreet the mock stock exchange, celeritas, mechanism, cad-cam, designing contest, management event, circuit simulation, entry into madame tussaude's, aerovision and bull's eye.

Axis '07 will be held at various venues in VNIT Campus, Nagpur on the 28th, 29th, 30th of September 2007. Students from colleges all over India, professionals from the industry, faculty from engineering colleges press and media can attend the technical festival. The festival will help the participants to understand significant marketing advantage, corporate goodwill from the student community, relationship marketing, creation of brand awareness and acceptance, opportunity to build relationships in a fiercely competitive talent pool and reach a nationwide students' audience.
