Sensing Divinity In All

The saints realized divinity pervading all and percolating in them as well as the one common thread that runs through the flowers of forms.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa once embarked on a pilgrimage with Mathur Babu who was the manager of the Kali temple at Dakshineshwar, and his family. In the course of their journey the party halted at Deoghar, the town and its surroundings which was gripped by famine. Some of the local tribals, the Santhals were victims of death due to starvation. The others who trailed on were no less than skeletons with hardly any clothes to cover themselves.
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was visibly moved by the terrible sight and joined the santhals in their woes and wept bitterly. He looked upon Mathur Babu to provide some help to the woe begotten folks. Mathur Babu was on the other hand perplexed and hesitant but lending his hand to a large number which could cost him a whopping amount. Moreover he was to cover the expenditure of the pilgrimage as well. But the master would not budge. He voiced his view that he cared less for the pilgrimage to Varanasi when his fellow beings, the children of the divine mother suffered. He was ready to starve with them unto death than to proceed with the pilgrimage. Mathur did not have any other alternative than to feed and clothe the Santhals after which the master agreed to resume with the journey.
Seeing the divinity rather sensing the divinity in all ! The way of the masters.
