Sri Ramakrishna's Vision Of Goddess Marinmayi

Sri Ramakrishna once paid a visit to Vishnupur. The King of the place had constructed many temples. Sri Ramakrishna visited one of the temples dedicated for the 'Divine Mother' with the name 'Marinmayi'. Lakes like Lalbandh and Krishnabandh were found in the proximity of the temple. The Master could smell a strange smell of hair ointments that women used in one of the lakes. As customary of the Master, He went into Samadhi. He then realised that He saw the form of the Goddess from waist upwards emerging from the water, though He had still not worshipped the image in the temple.
The Master later learned that the devotees as a part of worship offered hair ointments for the Goddess.
Sri Ramakrishna thus concluded that one had to believe in the presence of the omnipresent divinity in forms as well.
