Sathya Sai Baba is widely known for his miracles. Devotees claim them to be authentic, though many people term them as tricks. It is endearing to a devotee when the miracles of Sathya Sai Baba are recalled. Baba producing Lingas during Shivratri, Baba curing cancer, performing a miraculous surgery etc. But are devotees who have staunch belief in his miraculous ways, anticipating the greatest miracle of Sathya Sai Baba to happen?

With the death of Sathya Sai Baba, a successor may not be visualised by ardent devotees. His death, however has sparked fresh hopes with devotees in connection with his own predictions that he had made earlier, regarding his death.

It is a well known fact amongst the devotees, the statement that Baba had made earlier in connection to his death. He had said that he would shed his mortal coil at the age of 96 (ten more years from now) and that he would reincarnate as Prem Sai after he passes away at the age of 96. These words of Baba are recorded in his discourse on 9th September 1960 (Chapter 31 of Sathya Sai Speaks volume 1)

With the premature death of Sathya Sai Baba at the age of 85, some of his devotees are unable to accept his death ten years early than the anticipated year. With the burial of Sathya Sai Baba scheduled on the third day of his demise, Wednesday, 26th April, 2011; some of his devotees, who are banking on Baba's words, are awaiting a resurrection like that of Jesus Christ. Baba had also stated that he was the second of the triple incarnations, first being Shirdi Sai and the third to be Prem Sai.

Since according to Baba's prediction, he is still to live in this body till the age of 96, some devotees hope that he will arise from his death on the third day to live for the rest of the years predicted by him. They are anticipating the greatest miracle of Sathya Sai Baba to happen on the third day of his death. Some other devotees claim that Baba had already prepared them well, not to be attached to his body, which, will perish one day, but to identify himself as the undying soul.
