Shani Amavasya 2026 Brings Rare Karmic Energy After 13 Years, Explains Spiritual Healer Pooja Seth
There are phases in life when everything feels delayed - plans take longer than expected, emotions feel heavier, and even small challenges seem exhausting. Many people turn to spirituality during such moments, searching for clarity, balance, or simply a sense of reassurance. Interestingly, Shani Amavasya 2026 arrives with an especially rare significance this year, as it coincides with Shani Jayanti after 13 years.
Spiritual healer and wellness guide Pooja Seth opened up about the spiritual significance of this year's rare coincidence of Shani Amavasya and Shani Jayanti falling on the same day after 13 years. Speaking about the powerful energies surrounding May 16, she shared insights on karmic healing, emotional detox, and the importance of discipline and service during this spiritually charged phase.
Shani Amavasya Meets Shani Jayanti: A Time For Karmic Clearing And Inner Work
"On May 16th, both Shani Amavasya and Shani Jayanti are falling on the same day, which is a wonderful coincidence. Amavasya is already considered the beginning of a new chapter. The combination of these two occurring together marks a time for karmic clearing. It is believed that our long-pending karma or life lessons surface during this period. Amavasya is an excellent day for undertaking inner work, karmic cleansing, and shadow work. Lord Shani clears many aspects of our lives because he is the God of Justice and adjudicates every one of our good and bad deeds," Pooja shared.
Emotional Clarity And Spiritual Awakening During This Phase
Explaining how this period may impact people emotionally and spiritually, she added, "This period can bring hidden truths to light and provide emotional clarity as unlearned karmic lessons surface. Some may experience heightened intuition or feel emotionally heavy. This is a time of spiritual awakening. Importantly, Shani does not seek to punish - he teaches balance, truth, discipline, and growth. As the God of Justice, he rewards according to our deeds. If you have lived well, served elders, and worked hard, Shani may cause delays, but he always ensures you are rewarded. He protects the truthful. Those who fear him misunderstand his role as the ultimate arbiter of justice."
Remedies And Rituals To Follow On This Auspicious Day
Sharing the remedies and rituals people can follow on this auspicious day, Pooja said, "This is a day to pray for relief from struggles and to find stability during difficult phases of life. It is a time to heal anxiety, heaviness, and fear. One should engage in charity and service, especially those undergoing Shani ki Dhaiya or Saade Sati who face delays in their work.
Observing devotion, visiting temples, reciting Shani Dev's stories and the Chalisa is recommended. One should wake up early, maintain mental peace, and donate sesame oil and black gram (urad dal). Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, Shani Stotra, and the mantra Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah is beneficial."
The Importance Of Kindness, Service, And Healing Practices
She further emphasized the importance of kindness and healing practices during this phase. "Stay grounded, avoid harsh words, feed the elderly, serve your elders, and provide food to laborers, including office staff. Distributing snacks like samosas or black gulab jamuns is a good gesture. It is also an auspicious time to consult healers for forgiveness, karmic healing, inner child work, or emotional detox.
You can offer Mahadaan at community kitchens or langars. While items like black clothes, sesame, and iron utensils can be donated, iron should be purchased a day in advance, not on the day itself. You can use this day for meditation, lineage healing, sound healing, and releasing old emotional burdens to keep your life balanced," she explained.
Things To Avoid On This Day
Talking about what people should avoid on this day, Pooja concluded, "Avoid unnecessary arguments, disrespecting elders, dishonesty, harming animals, and speaking negatively or using slurs. Do not buy oil, cut your hair or nails, or consume non-vegetarian food. Avoid making major decisions if possible."
At its core, Shani Amavasya is not just about rituals or fear surrounding Lord Shani, but about reflection, accountability, and emotional cleansing. Whether it is through acts of kindness, prayer, meditation, or simply being more mindful of one's actions, this spiritually significant day encourages people to slow down and reconnect with themselves. As Pooja Seth explains, the energy of this rare coincidence can become an opportunity to let go of emotional baggage, focus on balance, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.
