Matunga Ganesha and Lalbaugcha Raja (Ganesha) play an important part in the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in ganesh chaturthi,lalbaugcha raja,lord ganesha,mumbai,priya devi r apart from the most noted Siddhi Vinayak temple.

The Matunga Ganesha of GSB Seva Mandal Committee, ganesh chaturthi,lalbaugcha raja,lord ganesha,mumbai,priya devi r presents an ornamented picture all about him. He gleams in gold and silver of about 60kgs of the former and 175kgs of the latter. Gold glitters in His ears, feet, hands and trunk apart from the counterparts of gold flowers, embroidery, necklace, a cobra and throne with lions on either side. The most striking feature is that He is highly eco friendly formed out of clay. It is said that the committee was attempting to cook and distribute prasad using eco friendly methods on Ganesha Chaturthi.

Matunga Ganesha covers an exuberant cost in His making and is also the tallest Ganesha in ganesh chaturthi,lalbaugcha raja,lord ganesha,mumbai,priya devi r of being 21 feet high. An interesting fact that captures ones awe is that this Ganesha is insured for a whopping sum of 70 million rupees and has the GSB Seva Mandal committee paying a yearly premium of Rs.2,50, 000.
