The method of worship followed over here is, childless couple apply ghee on the threshold of the sanctum of Goddess Garbarakshambigai and decorate it with rangoli drawn with rice flour. Ghee is further placed at the feet of the divine mother and worshipped. That ghee is supposed to be consumed for 48 days at night by the couple. It is not to be taken during menstrual period. Further an oil that is worshipped at the feet of Garbarakshamigai is to be applied in the lower abdomen of the mother to be, when she feels the pain at all times especially during the time of the birth of the child. It is further a belief that the above practise will pave way for a normal and a risk free delivery.
The sanctified ghee and oil can be acquired through mail as well from the temple.
Once when the child is born the baby is brought to the temple and placed in the golden cradle that is right in front of the sanctum of Sri Garbarakshambigai as an act of gratitude.
