Ekadashi, falling on the eleventh day of each lunar fortnight, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, and Goddess Lakshmi. This day is observed by millions of devotees who undertake fasting and spiritual practices.
In Hinduism, fasting on the day of Ekadashi is considered very auspicious. Devotees believe that by observing the fast with full devotion, their wishes are fulfilled. This festival also brings happiness, peace and prosperity to their home.
Each Ekadashi has its own unique significance and rituals, and in September 2024, there are two notable Ekadashis: Parivartini Ekadashi and Indira Ekadashi. This post provides an in-depth look at these important fasting days, their dates, and the auspicious timings to observe.
