The Way Of The Mind

Mulla Nasruddin was ridding his donkey through the market place. The donkey was rushing madly through the street which made the crowd curious.
The people asked Mulla, “Where are you rushing so madly?"
Mulla said, “You would have to ask my donkey that, for I do not know where it is heading to?"
“But how is it possible," the puzzled crowd queried.
Mulla replied, “This donkey is strange. It is so
stubborn that it refuses to head the way as per my directions. It involves in such a fight that I allow it to go its way in the market place as people start laughing at me. They says 'Its your own donkey and you are not the master of it?'
Mulla continued, “Hence I allow it to have its way in a crowded place, but when I am alone, I beat it and drive it to head the way I want. At least this will give a false impression to the people that it is under my control!"
Such is the way of the mind says Osho. It does not succumb to defeat. It tries new ways to keep itself mobile.
