Perfume and beauty influencer Joy who had been married to her husband Fred for about 11 years, posted the letter she received from him on X, formally Twitter which instantly went viral. 'Ladies... choose yourself. I woke up to this nonsense after almost 11 years of marriage.' she wrote as the caption. The letter soon gained views about 20 million times online.

About the Viral Letter

The way he started the letter, startled his longtime wife and got many people thinking that he was going to share heartbreaking news. "I hate to do it this way but it's now or never because what I'm about to say has to be said." He continues. 'That means from 7pm to whatever time the game ends I will not be a husband or father,' he wrote, talking about the opening night of the Knicks season when he would be watching the game and which he didn't want to miss.

He writes further, 'Y'all are on your own for a couple of hours. No, I will not watch our shows with you. No, I will not get you something sweet. I will not take the dog out.....I will sit on my couch, drink in hand and I will watch the game.' In the end Fred assures, "'I look forward to seeing and talking to you later. AFTER the game, that is."

He finishes with a special note for his child. "P.S. The child may stay past bedtime only if he watches the game with me. If he doesn't watch then off to bed with him. Thanks."

Once Joy had posted the letter, she shared that it had initially got her nervous but when she read the content, it got her laughing hard and literally made her morning.
