Ram Ladoo Recipe: How To Make Moong Dal Pakora
Ram ladoo is a famous street food from Delhi and is also a perfect appetizer or snack for parties and festivals. Here is a step-by-step procedure along with images and a video on how to make it.
Ram ladoo is a popular snack that originates from the streets of Delhi. Though the name sounds like a sweet recipe, it is surprisingly a delectable savoury snack. Also known as the moong dal pakora, this snack consists of deep-fried fritters that are crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and is topped with grated radish and the two chutneys.

The gulgulle, from the streets of Delhi, is definitely not to be missed by tourists. This finger-licking snack can be eaten just as such; however, when served with the crunchy radish and the chutneys, it adds flavour to the ladoos. It is an excellent starter to be prepared for parties.

Moong dal - 1 cup
Green chilli (chopped) - 1
Baking powder - ¼th tsp
Salt to taste
Hing (asafoetida) - ¼th tsp
Oil for frying
Grated mooli (grated radish) - 1 cup
Red chilli powder - ¼th tsp
Garam masala - ¼th tsp
Jeera powder - ¼th tsp
Amchur chutney - 3 tbsp
Coriander chutney - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves (chopped) - for garnishing

1. Take moong dal in a bowl and soak it overnight and drain the excess water once done.
2. Add the soaked moong dal, green chilli and baking powder in a mixer jar.
3. Further, add salt and hing into the jar.
4. Grind it a little coarsely.
5. Heat oil in a deep-bottomed pan.
6. Using a spoon, drop dollops of the batter in the oil, once it is hot.
7. Fry them until they turn a slight golden brown in colour.
8. Put a few of the ladoos in a serving bowl.
9. Sprinkle the grated radish, salt and red chilli powder.
10. Add a pinch of garam masala and jeera powder.

- 1. You can add a little soaked chana dal while grinding the batter for the ladoos.

STEP BY STEP - HOW TO MAKE RAM LADOO
