7 Ways Pregnant Women Affect The Foetus
Pregnancy is one of the best phases in a woman's life. Every woman wants to bear a child and be a mother. When a woman gets pregnant, she is advised from near and dear ones to look after the health of the baby and herself.
She is also told not to do the things that will harm the foetus at any cost and doctors advise expectant women to stay off alcohol, smoking and even eating unpasteurized cheese. These three have a serious consequences for the growth and development of their unborn child.
Likewise, there are other things too which hamper the health of the growing baby inside the womb. Not following a balanced meal, refusing to stay active, avoiding the prenatal pill and basking in polluted air are some of the ways pregnant women affect the foetus.
When you choose to ignore your baby's health, it affects the growth of the foetus in a drastic way. So, here are some of the ways pregnant women can affect the foetus, why don't you take a look and beware to stay away from the things that can hurt your baby in the womb:

Pollution
Research shows that when a pregnant woman spends too much time in a polluted zone there are chances of the baby being born at a lower birth weight. Increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables can help protect the foetus.

Stay Away From Processed Meats
Processed meats are extremely dangerous for the pregnant woman. These meats contain a bacteria called Listeria. When infected it can lead to premature delivery, infection in the infant and even stillbirth.

Vitamin D Importance
Vitamin D is absorbed from the sun. If the mother lacks this important vitamin there are chances of gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and lower birth weight.

Antidepressants?
Research shows that most pregnant women prefer to pop in an antidepressant pill to ease out the mixed and troubled emotions. However, these pills are dangerous as it can lead to a higher risk of miscarriages, birth defects, preterm delivery and behavioral problems, including autism.

Second Hand Smoke
Second hand smoke is as dangerous as first hand. Pregnant women who inhale and smoke affect the foetus. Second hand smoke is linked to asthma and breathing problems in the unborn.

For The Coffee Lovers
Drinking too much of coffee when pregnant is dangerous as the caffeine has a drastic effect on the foetus. Caffeine increases the risk for babies being smaller than normal at birth.

Are You Overweight?
Recent studies have also linked a woman's pre-pregnancy weight to her child's risk of asthma. If you are overweight, it is time to watch what you eat so that you can give birth to a healthy child.
