It is normal and healthy sigh to gain weight in later stages of pregnancy. Initial stages of pregnancy do not cause a weight gain and you may be having the same weight as before.

Excess weight gain in pregnancy (more than normal) can be harmful for your baby. The excess fats in your body can cause shortage of space to your baby.

This will help to keep a check on your increased weight. You will come to know whether your weight gain ids normal or not. Increased weight gain can also cause pregnancy related diabetes and also high blood pressure.

You must ensure that the weight gained by you is a good weight excluding the weight of your baby.
To achieve a healthy weight maintain a healthy diet during pregnancy. Eat a fat free diet but nit neglect healthy fats rich in omega 3 fatty acids.
