Home literacy provided by the parents is an important factor in developing the child's initial skills. The motivation given by the parents increases his knowledge and vocabulary across different languages.
The 'playing around' with the letters always makes a big difference for the reading habits of the child in future. The parents who are not able to invest time for this can rely up on educational programs like multimedia tools including spelling programs and games.
A rich home literacy environment is absolutely necessary to improve the English language, says George Georgiou, educational psychology professor from the University of Alberta. His team conducted a comparative study in the learning methods of different languages. He says that a child requires the help of somebody to explain the meanings of new words while learning the English language.
