Lets Take A Toil At The World's Oldest Zoo

Zoo! The three letter word is filled with loads of excitement, fun and learning. The first thing that gives me a glimpse of the past is when a gorilla in its playful mood tore of my fancy pink frock in midst of thousands, when I tried to sneak into its territory with my tiny feet. Probably it thought, “how come one of my kids is in some human clothing". I was just five years old then. Well! The first visit to the zoo is always treasured by kids. A little bit of history

Tiergarten Schonbrunn is a zoo located on the grounds of the famous Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. It was constructed in 1752 next to Schloss Schonbrunn by Adrian van Stekhoven at the order of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis I, husband of Maria Theresia, to serve as an imperial menagerie.

What would attract kids here?

Interesting researches: On July 1906, an elephant was born here, the first time ever in a zoo. Until then, zoologists had held the opinion that elephants could not reproduce in captivity. To be a part of the wild nature in the dark is a great adventure for the kids. The zoo makes it possible with guided tours at night. This is possible during a special tour through the zoo with infrared binoculars. These guided tours are offered throughout the year, but it lasts for only 90 minutes.

Other major attractions include a rainforest house, in which the spectator is led through a simulation of the Amazon Rainforest, and an aquarium, which enables spectators to walk through underneath a simulation of the Amazon in flood.
