Care For Your Adolescent Children - Part II

Encourage Pals
Teenage children have the tendency to cling to their pals than their parents. You need not have to be jealous feeling that those new friends are overtaking your place. Your teenage child's friends represent the future community in the society, to which he/she wants to get associated.
You can encourage your teenager's friends at your home. In that way you will get to know whether your children are in a good peer group or not. However if you have a negative opinion about any of the visiting friends, never tell it your child at the first shot. You can slowly compare that particular friend with other good friends and ask your child to judge the good one. Your teenager will be able to separate the chaff from the grain very soon.
Many parents are skeptical about the opposite gender pals of their teenage children. It is always better to acquaint with all your teenage children than restricting them. Any restriction based on mere suspicion will make your teenage children rebellious and lead them to more infatuations.
