7 Important Things To Discuss With Your Partner Before Having A Baby!
If you are married or in a committed, long-term relationship with your partner, it is quite natural to want to expand your family by having children.
Having children of their own and raising them up to be positive individuals, is something most people would want when they are adults.
The prospect of being parents, learning parenting skills which will help your kids have a quality life, spending time with your kids and watching them grow up are somethings that most couple would desire for.
However, as we all realise, parenting is no walk in the park and it is one of the hardest things out there!
Being responsible for another young individual's life, teaching them the ways of the world, the expenses involved, etc, can all be quite challenging.
So, it is very important for both partners to be emotionally, physically and financially ready to bring a child into their lives!
Often, one parent may not be ready for a child; however the person may give in due to the pressure from his/her partner.
So, here are a few important things that you'll need to discuss with your partner, if you are planning on having a baby.

1. Health
You and your partner must ensure that you are in good mental and physical health, which is very important if you want to have and raise a child.

2. Finances
It is important to discuss about your financial capacity, as a new baby means more expenses, which will only keep growing with the child. Financial stability is crucial if you want to have a baby.

3. Career
Discuss about your careers and see whether it is feasible to have a child at this point in your life, if you are still trying to climb the ladder on the career front.

4. Personal Preferences
You may want to have a child right away, but your partner may want to concentrate on his/her career, travel, or other interests for now. Forcing your partner to have a child will only affect your relationship.

5. Parenting Duties
If both you and your partner are working, then it is important to discuss how you are going to split the parenting duties while raising a child.

6. Parenting Techniques
Discuss about how each of you wish to raise your kid. You may want to set liberal rules for your kids, while your partner may believe in being traditionally strict, which may create a rift between both of you.

7. Adoption Option
In case you decide to have a child, but find out that it is not possible due to certain medical reasons, talk to your partner to see if he/she is willing to consider the option of adopting a child.
