Stree 2: Who Is 'Sarkata'? Know About 7.7ft Tall Wrestler Who Plays Terrifying Giant In This Horror Comedy
Horror-comedy has always benefited from iconic characters that make you laugh and shiver, and Stree 2, the much awaited follow-up to the 2018 smash Stree, is no different.
This popular film, which was directed by Amar Kaushik, carries on the story of paranormal activities in the sleepy town of Chanderi. The movie features a new antagonist named Sarkata, a powerful ghost with a detachable head who haunts and kidnaps progressive women one by one, while Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao return to their respective roles.

Continue reading to find out more about the star whose mere physical presence can chill anyone to the bone:
Who Is Sunil Kumar?
An actor from Jammu named Sunil Kumar plays Sarkata. He works as a police constable and is a professional wrestler, standing an amazing 7 feet and 6 inches tall.
With five inches less height than Sunil, the renowned WWE wrestler The Great Khali is referenced in his moniker, "The Great Khali of Jammu," due to his enormous stature. Since Kumar wants to represent India in the WWE and have a worldwide impact, he chose the moniker "The Great Angaar" for himself.
Sunil showcased his wrestling skills at a 2019 WWE Tryout to become a professional wrestler like his idol, The Great Khali. But his goals haven't just been confined to the arena. His striking height and powerful build made him a prime choice for parts requiring a strong physical presence; as a result, he made his acting debut in Stree 2 as Sarkata.
Sarkata - The Terrifying Headless Monster
Sarkata is not just any ghost in Stree 2. He's a monstrous figure with a head that detaches-a notion that seamlessly combines terror with the goofy, lighthearted tone that the Stree series is recognized for.
Sarkata's unearthly visage and spooky head were computer-generated imagery (CGI), but the producers still needed a physique that could believably portray this figure. Sunil Kumar was the ideal candidate because of his distinctive physique.
Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik shared about Sunil's casting choices. According to Kaushik, "The casting team found him." He was the perfect height for the man we were looking for. We employed his body pictures, but Sarkata's face was computer-generated imagery.
About Stree 2
In Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor relive their roles as the main characters in the tale of the haunting town of Chanderi. Alongside them, returning actors Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana bolster the film's formidable ensemble cast.
Along with these cameos, Maddock Films, led by producer Dinesh Vijan, has expanded its universe of horror comedies with appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Varun Dhawan, and Akshay Kumar.
Amar Kaushik's popularity as the maestro of the horror-comedy genre is cemented by the success of Stree 2, which also presents Sunil Kumar as a fresh star to watch in the film industry and beyond.
As Sunil Kumar's portrayal of Sarkata gives Stree 2 a fresh perspective and demonstrates that often the most memorable characters are those that push the boundaries of the ordinary, the film continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of humour and horror!
