Confession Over iPhone - Is It Acceptable?

Confession: A Roman Catholic App, has since then become a debatable issue. Many believe that Confessing over an iPhone is not the appropriate way of confessing to God and on the other hand, many Catholic churches in US have allowed the use of 'Confession: A Roman Catholic App,' for confession over iPhone. This has come along after the Roman Pope allowed the use of Social networking.
The introduction of the Confession: A Roman Catholic App, has become very popular among people but has resulted in clash of ideas across the Catholic Churches. The spokesperson of the Vatican has concluded that confession via iPhone will not be allowed as it is the most inappropriate way to confess to the Lord. This is an act of undermining God. Father Federico Lombardie says, “One cannot speak in any way of confessing via iPhone. This cannot be substituted by any IT application," Lombardi added.
While some of the Catholic churches feel that confession via iPhone with the Confession: Roman Catholic App, is not to replace the practice of coming to church but is a way to help Catholics across the world to admit their sins at the time they want to.
Confession in the Catholic sect is a way to cleanse the soul of all the sins committed. Till now, the sinner had to come to the house of the Lord and confess to the priest who sits veiled in a confession stand. It has been followed for so many years. So, can technology take the place of emotions?
