Money Gets Satisfaction, If You Spend Wisely

If you want happiness by shopping, skip the flat-screen TV and go for a massage, says the psychological experts.
The consumers will get more satisfaction with 'experimental purchases'. This includes having a massage or spending money for a family vacation. The spending money on the material things may make us feel good at first. But they will only help us to make less happy in the end, says the experts.
When we shop the material things, we have the tendency to compare our items with other people's purchases. This will make us realize about the better deals we missed.
But when time moves further, the buying experiences provides greater satisfaction because of the selective memory. Another reason for this is the highly subjective experiences of the consumers, which may make it harder to make negative comparisons.
We also decide to buy the things or spend money for the luxuries, based on others' opinions and experiences. If so, that meets a set of expectations which may not always come true. Our attitudes about the purchases influences the level of satisfaction too, says the experts.
