Keep Your Vacations Short And Sweet

These days, as everyone has committed himself into the rat race, researchers give weekend holidays with family the highest priority. But at the same time, they have adviced to keep the outing short and sweet.
Dan Ariely, a behavioural economist, said that a persons enjoyment wanes as they become accustomed to their holiday lifestyle.
"On a long vacation, day seven is less good than day one because it's not as exciting. That's why in general, going away four times a year provides more benefit than you would expect, and going away for one week provides less benefit than you would expect," says Prof Ariely at Duke.
It's common human tendency to get bored very quickly. The same thing happens on a long vacation. In the first few days you have finishes exploring the place, you have relaxed enough and later you don't have anything interesting to do. As you have already got drenched in the holiday mood, it's time to get back to work.
