Reading Interests Of Boys And Girls

The new studies reveal that boys read as much as girls, but prefer far less challenging books.
The studies conducted in UK, about the reading habits, found that girls of all ages score higher on the reading tests. Boys tend to read easier books than girls. Girls prefer consistently more difficult topics than boys.
The change in the standard of reading habits generally becomes marked between the ages of 13 and 16.
The favorite books of girls in this age group include the books like 'Twilight' of Stephanie Meyer, where boys favorites include 'The Dark Never Hides' from the Dark Man series of the British novelist Peter Lancett.
J. K. Rowlings, the author of 'Harry Potter' has dropped from the second to the ninth position, at the list of top 10 most popular authors among the children.
