Sananda Tilottama steps into its 12th year

The Calcutta preliminary round of the Dabur Gulabari Sananda Tilottama '07 in association with Ever Youth and Seagrams Blenders Pride Magical Nights was held at The Park, Kolkata. Actor Churni Ganguly, Lensmen Vivek Das, Designer Dev n Nil and Supermodel Nayanika Chatterjee made up the judges' panel.

After receiving 3000 applications from all over the country, 80 short listed candidates met the esteemed judges in two rounds- the ramp round and the question and answer round. The contestants were judged on their poise on the ramp as well as their ability to handle questions.

Since its inception Sananda Tilottama has continued its quest to discover the best talents in the eastern region. It has established itself as a major platform for prospective supermodels and successful film stars. To this end Sananda Tilottama has launched many a beauty aspirant from the east, for example, Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley, Koena Mitra to name a few.

Into its 12th year of celebrating beauty Sananda Tilottama has gone a step further this year. Following the overwhelming response from the north eastern part of the country, Guwahati continues to feature as a destination for the preliminary rounds of Sananda Tilottama.

The eighteen finalists chosen from Kolkata along with the two finalists from Guwahati will go onto be a part of the 20 finalists of Dabur Gulabari Sananda Tilottama 08. These twenty girls will undergo a month's rigorous grooming schedule, in Calcutta, under the guidance of super model Nayanika Chatterjee.

Sananda, born in 1986, is from the house of ABP, the biggest media house in the east. With its mission of empowering women, Sananda has been a constant companion to its readers. The brand has repeatedly reinvented and adapted itself to the needs of the modern Indian woman.
