New Delhi : All India Radio's science programme for children has bagged the first prize at the 9th International Radio Festival of Iran.
The programme titled-- ''Janiba ame kama kariba (Think globally and act locally)'' is produced in Oriya by AIR (Orissa) Programme Executive Padmalochan Das.
The awards were presented yesterday night at a glittering ceremony in Isfahan city of Iran, where Mr Das was presented a Golden Statue and cash prize of 2000 Euros.
The programme disseminates scientific information about the making of the solar system, the earth, and its environment through musical rhymes.
It enlightens the children about the factors leading to climatic changes and how to save it.
In the programme, two children (Kuni and Mani) are in conversation with their mother in a garden. The sun, the tree, the pond, the butterfly and the fumes have been personified to interact with the children and speak for them.
