Paris Olympics 2024: What's This Mysterious Box That Medal Winning Atheletes Are Receiving?
Since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games began on Saturday, 27 July, athletes have been stepping onto podiums across various venues. Alongside their medals, winners receive a unique gift. This additional reward has piqued curiosity among many. Let us know everything about it!
During the medal ceremonies, athletes are handed not just medals but also a box as a gift, measuring about forty centimeters. Inside is the official event poster designed by Ugo Gattoni. However, this isn't the only gift they have received.

Special Mascots For Medallists
After the ceremony, but not on the podium, athletes also get a mascot representing their medal's colour- gold, silver, or bronze. These mascots are crafted in France at the Doudou & Compagnie factory in La Guerche-de-Bretagne.
The mascots feature a medal emblem sewn onto their belly and trainers colored gold, silver, or bronze. Additionally, the makers have also written "Bravo" in French on the back of each Phryge mascot.

Paralympic Edition
For the Paralympic Games, medal-winning athletes will receive a similar mascot with "Bravo" inscribed in Braille on its back during their ceremony. The Paralympic poster is given to them later.
Volunteers And Their Special Touch
These thoughtful gifts are distributed by 515 volunteers from Paris 2024. The idea behind this is to make the award-winning experience memorable and unique for all athletes. Further, it also highlights and celebrates inclusivity and creativity.
