WIFW’15: Rohit Bal’s Mughal Wedding
The spectacle at the Qutub Minar was really one that we will not forget for a long time. Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2015 Spring Summer ended on a really high note today. After all, it was not a conventional ramp on which other fashion shows are performed. For the last collection of WIFW 2015 presented by Rohit Bal, the Qutub Minar with all its Mughal splendor was converted into a ramp.
It begins with the booming sound of Subha Mudgal's strong voice resonating classical notes from behind Quli Khan's tomb. The atmosphere was beyond any spec of doubt regal to the greatest extent. And then, models walked out on the ramp dressed in splendid Mughal designs. But it was not ladies first for Rohit Bal's WIFW 2015 collection.
First, the grooms came on to the runaway dressed in their Mughal splendor carrying bottles of rose water in their hands. The typical Mughal outfits were an instant hit. The long Mughal kurtas with loose pantaloons have been featured in Rohit Bal's previous collections as well. But in this collection, this particular form was the main focus.
Next came the brides dressed in simple lehenga cholis. The brides were much more simply dressed than the grooms. We particularly liked the plain white lehenga choli clad bride. The threaded embroidery on the silk lehenga cholis was breath taking. The striped patterns was quite different from what we have seen so at WIFW 2015. The quilted lehenga is a new innovation in this collection.
Velvet finish, regal embroidery and peplum cholis are three very dominant elements in this collection. What we love the most is the red roses in the hair that serve as a theme in this collection.
To end the finale we saw Arjun Rampal walk down the ramp dressed in a black velvet bandhgala. He looked totally out of the world in this outfit. Arjun Rampal's appearance at WIFW 2015 increases the glamour quotient and heated up the ramp. The end of Day 5 at WIFW 2015 was a surreal experience. It is surely one of the grandest ends to a fas
