Bangalore will host the La Tomatina festival within a fortnight and the excitement is just incredible. You might be wondering whats with this whole concept of Tomatina festival that has become such a rage in the city. For those who don't know, the La Tomatina festival happening in Bangalore is actually a borrowed form of the Tomato festival celebrated in Spain.

Why La Tomatina In Bangalore?
Next question, so why are we celebrating a Spanish festival in the first place? To foster bilateral relations with Spain? Definitely not; because it is loads of tangy fun. The whole idea of the Tomatina festival has been popularised by the Bollywood movie 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. Haven't you watched it? The next thing you know you'll be asked to leave the country! Go catch it first thing this evening. The movie of course was immensely popular but even more fame was garnered by the sequence of the tomato festival where the three main leads of the movie; Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar are romancing the squishy tomatoes along with the gorgeous lady Katrina Kaif.

Where To Go?
The La Tomatina festival in Bangalore is happening at the Palace Grounds, Emerald Greens. You will have more than 4000 square feet of lush green open space and lots of bright red tomatoes to play with. Imagine the fun of it!

When is It?
18th September 2011, Sunday. This Bangalore event starts from 11 am in the morning and continues at least for the next two hours. Make sure you are there way in advance because there is going to be quite a crowd.

Tickets?
Sugar and spice and every thing nice but there is always a price. So for an unlimited fun filled day of bunking work you need to shell out about 2 grands. There are basically three kinds of tickets being sold at various websites; Single, Couple and Students.

• Singles have tickets starting Rs 1199
• Couple Passes come for Rs 1999
• Students can get a ticket for Rs 899. But make sure you bring your college identity cards along.

• Two of world's best Djs; DJ Ivan and DJ Ma Faiza will be rocking the Palace Grounds while you enjoy the tomatoes.

• There will arrangements for Rain Dance along with tomato fight here.

Rules Of The Tomatina Festival
This festival like all others has some codes of conduct for safety and smooth functioning.

• Firstly, you have to squash the tomatoes in your hands before you throw them or else the solid tomatoes might hurt somebody.
• Secondly, you must not aim it purposely at the eyes because tomatoes are citrus; eyes will burn.
