We already know that in April 2024 banks will remain closed for 14 days in total and therefore, bank customers across various states in India need to plan their banking activities around this holiday schedule, as announced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The RBI, in coordination with state governments, has set out a list that includes Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, public holidays, and specific regional holidays. Let us know if the banks will remain closed on 17 April 2024 due to Ram Navami.

Bank Holiday On Ram Navami 2024
Chaitra Navratri is going on which is a significant 9-day period in the Hindu Lunar Calendar and therefore, on 17 April 2024, banks across numerous states in India will observe a holiday in honor of Ram Navami. This day, significant for its commemoration of Lord Rama's birth anniversary, prompts a nationwide pause in the usual bustling activities of banks.
For those planning bank visits around this time, it's crucial to know that banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi, and Shimla will remain closed for Ram Navami.
Despite the closures, customers can still access a range of banking services online. Services such as net banking and mobile banking remain available, allowing for uninterrupted banking operations even on holidays.
