While concentration is more on mobile phones and white products like dishwashers, sensual toys also come under the new measure.
"Electrical goods end up in landfill sites, often in developing countries, and that is a problem. Sex toys would be included," News of the World quoted a European Parliament spokesman, as saying.
The British Plastics Foundation points out that the measure would cost the industry almost 1billion pounds as it has to come up with an alternative for PVC.
UKIP chairman Paul Nuttall said: "Taking PVC out of electrical goods would cost millions... and cost the bedrooms of Britain a lot of fun."
