Kirk Douglas Salutes America For Supporting Haiti

On Friday, George Clooney's Hope For Haiti Now, raised more than 57 million dollars for the relief fund. Stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Gisele Bundchen and Sandra Bullock have all offered huge sums of cash to help the Haiti victims.
Douglas has saluted the people of America for being so forthcoming in their response to the earthquake and said, “I am so proud of America. The response to the catastrophe in Haiti was overwhelming. I like to think of our country as being the first to respond to any tragedy in the world."
He said that many countries look at United States as an arrogant country. To counteract that, he said “we must show that we believe in helping everyone, no matter what country, no matter what religion, no matter if they hate us or love us. This is the spirit of our country for the world to see."
